Dear friends and colleagues,
dear members of the German Genetics Society,
We are pleased to invite you to attend the annual meeting 2017 of the German Society of Genetics, which will be held at the Ruhr-University in Bochum, Germany. The conference will open on Tuesday afternoon, September 26, and end on Thursday evening, September 28, 2017.
We welcome abstract submissions in all areas of genetics. Main topics covered in plenary and concurrent sessions are Epigenetics, Evolution & Development, Microbiomics, Molecular Recognition and Communication, Optogenetics, Organismic Interactions, Population genetics, and Secondary Metabolism.
We have invited leading experts in the respective fields to present their data. Additional emphasis lies on the contribution of younger scientists, who will give short oral presentations being selected from abstract submissions.
There are three more highlights: With the Max-Delbrück-Lecture a renowned scientist will be honored for outstanding work in the field of genetics, and the Elisabeth-Gateff-Preis will be awarded for an excellent PhD thesis. Finally, the “Anders-Award” will be given to small groups of self-organized students, who have conducted an outstanding genetic research project. Applications are welcome from supervisors or PhD students.
Bochum with six universities is a City of Science and its central location within Europe makes it easy to get to from all points of the compass.
We invite you to visit our website www.genetics-conference.de, which will, in due time, display all the necessary tools for easy access to abstract uploading, registration, accommodations, as well as complete information about the scientific programme.
We are looking forward to welcome you in Bochum in September 2017
